Geophysicists and data scientists

We look for geophysicists with strong seismic data processing and seismic imaging backgrounds to work together on in-situ decentralized seismic imaging systems. The work encompasses cross-disciplinary theoretical, numerical, and experimental research.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and develop distributed in-situ data processing computing software of seismic imaging and inversion, particularly in the context of recent developments in tomography, time reversal, seismic redatuming, and full-waveform imaging.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have research and industrial experience in Exploration Geophysics, with demonstrable evidence of research or professional excellence.
• Programming or scripting skills required in one or more: Matlab, Python (ScyPy, Numpy, Matplotlib), C, or C++.
• Must have demonstrable knowledge/experience in the following subjects: wave propagation (acoustic and elastic), seismic interferometry, seismic imaging, seismic redatuming, multiples in seismic wavefields (free-surface and internal), seismic attenuation and Q estimation.
• Experience with experimental rock physics.
• Demonstrable research experience during graduate studies, with at least one published conference abstract in a reputable geophysical conference as a first author, covering one or more of the topics listed above.
